The social media giant has hired dozens of designers to work on its creative projects over the next several months, according to two people familiar with the situation.
The hires will create content for its upcoming social media products, including its Instagram and Facebook Live platforms.
The design work will be done primarily in the United States and will take place under the supervision of people who are familiar with Facebook’s design processes.
Facebook has not yet revealed the names of the designers.
The hiring of hundreds of skilled designers is one of the biggest hires in the social media company’s history, and the move comes at a time when the company is trying to expand its reach in areas like fashion and technology.
In April, Facebook announced that it had hired more than 40 designers to help design its brand identity and logo.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the hires earlier this year as part of his effort to make Facebook more accessible to consumers and to bolster its online advertising revenue.
