Designers from across the globe are gearing up to take the wraps off of a logo that will be used on their jerseys and hats during the 2017-18 NHL season.
The logo will be inspired by the NHL Players Association’s recent decision to remove the name “NHL” from the league’s name, which it said was outdated and outdated for a new era.
According to a press release, the NHLPA and NHL players’ union will unveil the logo on Feb. 6 at the NHL Awards, which will also be hosted by Yahoo Sports.
The team’s primary logo, which the NHL used in the 1930s and 1940s, was also designed by architect Howard Carter, who also designed the new logo for the NHL, the press release said.
The NHLPA said the logo was developed by a panel of professional designers.
The league has released the official logo design for the 2017 season, which was unveiled at the league Awards.
The name of the league is changing for the first time in 50 years.
The new name, the New York Rangers, is now “The NHL.”
